The Owlets have been learning about Diwali, the Hindu festival of light. They learnt about the story of Rama and Sita, they then created bridges to help save Sita. Throughout the week they then created Rangoli patterns to welcome Lakshmi into their class. They listened to traditional Diwali music and learnt a dance. On Friday the Owlets designed their own Mehndi patterns and painted each others hands.

Having regular sensory breaks really help with focus, attention and learning. One of this week’s sensory breaks was dancing while learning our times table facts while another involved us focusing on our breathing.
The Tawny Owls are showing great ability at being able to log on and off their Chromebooks independently. They are beginning to navigate their way around search engines to reach the internet site required for learning. We had a good discussion today about internet safety and keeping your login and password details secret.
Forest School was linked to our Science topic 'Diet and Lifestyle'. The children discussed diets of different animals and what categories they are in - herbivore, carnivore or omnivore. They ended the session having a small sugary treat.
