Christmas Table Decoration Workshop with Tricia Richardson Back by popular demand we will be running this fantastic workshop again at the Methodist hall on Tuesday 14th December 7.30pm. Come along and make your very own beautiful seasonal table centrepiece whilst enjoying a festive tipple! Tickets will be £15 which includes the workshop and all the equipment and supplies you need to create your beautiful centrepiece, also a glass of mulled wine or Prosecco and a mince pie. If you would like to join in but are unable to make the workshop we will be selling the kits for £10 (you need to provide your own foliage) and there is an online video for you to make your centrepiece at home. If you would like a beautiful table decoration but don’t have time to make your own Tricia has kindly offered to provide ready made ones again, with local delivery in time for Christmas, these will be £15. Full details to follow soon, but for now please save the date if you can - it’s a really fun and festive evening and all proceeds go to FoBS. Thank you to FoBS for running a pop up Cycle Cafe for Tavistock Wheelers cycle club. The cafe raised £344 which will go towards the forest school shelter roof.
In the run up to Christmas, we thought it would be nice for us all to have something to look forward to. So we have decided to take part in the ‘Big PTA Raffle 2020’ run by Parentkind in conjunction with ‘Your School Lottery’.
For as little as £3 you can enter into 12 raffle draws with the chance to win up to £5000 in cash prizes. The best part is for every ticket sold FoBS will receive 50% of the ticket sales back, any money raised will go towards paying for improvements to the outdoor environmental area at school for the enrichment of all of our children. The first draw starts on the 7th December so please make sure you have bought your tickets before that date to be in with a chance to win. Simply click on the button below and follow the link in the poster to buy tickets. Good luck everyone! The end to another school year, and what an end to a year!
Despite the unprecedented times and the enforced school closure FoBS have still been working hard to make sure we have funds to support the children and school when we return next year. Although we haven’t been able to enjoy our usual summer events some great things have been happening over lockdown: Bingo via Facebook raising £100 and ‘Chop the Mop’ head shave raising £160. With these and the events that happened before March you have helped us raise over £2,000 – a fantastic achievement – thank you! A lot of this will go straight to much needed work in the environmental area to ensure a fantastic outdoor learning space for when the children return. Hopefully you have all heard about The GREAT Bridestowe Community Cookbook, please get your recipe in by the 17th July (email [email protected]) so that we can create a fantastic Lockdown Cookbook and raise some money for when the children return in September. Best of luck to Mr Parsley on his new adventures and of course to our Year 6s as they move on to college! And welcome to Mr Huxtable! We would like to say a massive thank you to all the families, staff and members of the community who continue to support our fundraising efforts and wish everyone a happy and healthy summer break – stay safe.
